Great Fishing Pole

At first, this was a difficult pole to cast because of the backlash. Once I experimented with the breaking system and tension knob, I found it to become quite enjoyable. It makes lures like chatter bait fishing a lot easier to get the proper action out of the bait and lure.

Great!

Haven’t use it yet, but super light weight and got it on sale for $60

Poor Quality

I brought this item back in November, but used it less than 5 times. The main shaft on the reel stripped, and I tried to contact Daiwa to purchase a new one. I haven't received a reply yet, and I can't find the specific main shaft. Rod is not bad however

Solid Combo For The Price!

Bought this combo as an upgrade to my old rod and reel. Did not disappoint with a 7.1.1 gear ratio. Running 15 lb braided line, works like a charm for long casts and medium quick retrieve. Liked it so much I went and bought another.

Do Not Order And Ship Online

Package came in today, and the rod is completely ruined. The rod is in pieces and the reel handle looks like it was ran over. It came in a flat box with no protection for the combo. Terrible experience and will never order a combo rod online on dick'

I purchased this a month ago and it exceeded my expectations. It’s budget friendly so it doesn’t break the bank. I’m pleased with this combo’s performance. Can’t go wrong with Daiwa!

Great Baitcaster

Bought for my son and it's his favorite rod. It's well built and had held up well to 20 lb carp.

Bad Luck With This Combo.

I bought this and a couple new lures on a Friday night. Went out sat morning went out on lake and first cast with new pole I watched my line and new lure go flying bye bye. OK so I tied a bad knot. Tied a new not, put on another lure and same thing. Wait what? I know that knot was good. I inspected the last eye of the rod to see it was cracked and had a sharp edge. I fed some line through and pulled it across the eye and it sliced it like a razor blade. I returned it on Sunday and did a semi even exchange. I had about 125 yards of 10 lb braid on the reel that I lost as when I went in I only wanted to get a new pole, not the reel. Got the second rod home only to discover that the speed control know was not working as expected. No matter where I moved it the weight on the end of the line would not fall. Returned that one and exchanged for a spinning rod as they didn not have anymore Shoguns available.

Light Touch, Incredible Combo For The Money

It's sensitive, so I'd make sure you work the brake up slowly if you're new to baitcasters. But once it's dialed it, man, it is awesome. Good length and good accuracy. I've always used Daiwa spinning reels and Abu baitcasters, but this has been a great crossover for me. Climbing the charts for my new favorite reel.
