Great Mat; Just Not What I Was Looking For

I really loved it, I just wanted something a little less heavy so I could take to the occasional yoga classes I attend. I did end up getting a lighter manduka mat. It did have a rubber smell to it that I assume would go away after some time. Nothing too pungent though. It was also very sticky, so I found it more difficult to slide across during flowing movements.

Sturdy But I Wouldn't Say Lite

With Lite in the name, I didn't think it would be as heavy as it is, but I'll just bring a lighter one with me to class and use this at home. Barely Lasted A Year

It is so slipper after 13 months of use I cannot use it anymore. I have had cheaper mats last me for years. I called the company because I took care of It per the directions.. however she told mw the rubber does break down and I may not be able to expect long term use. She then pointed me to their $130 mats.

Smell

I bought this mat a year ago in April, and it still has the most terrible smell. I cannot get rid of it no matter what I do. I've tried different sprays, scrubbing it with water, scrubbing it with dawn detergent, and nothing works. I love how it feels when I practice, but need to hop into the shower immediately to get the smell off of my hands. I am so disappointed! I saved up for this mat and feel frustrated that the smell never faded.

Loved Extra Cushion, Bummed Mat Peels :(

This yoga mat cost me a pretty penny and I thought the extra cushion and natural rubber material was worth it until it peeled! I am sure could get more use out of it but I have kids and the rubber “crumbs” this mat leaves behind are a choking hazard. Disappointed in this mat although the extra cushion felt great on my joints during my practice.

It stays grippy with or without moisture. It does have a natural rubber smell right out of the packaging but that dissipated quickly within a few days.

Super Grippy!

Upon initial opening, I noticed a rubbery (think fresh can of tennis balls) smell during the first week of use, but it gradually went away and didn't bother me that much. It comes out of the package very sticky, but that wears down to a super grippy top layer. For day to day vinyasa I have no problem with slippage, but find myself slipping a tiny bit with more intensive/hot yoga. I have been practicing 3-5 times a week for the past 4 months on this mat and it looks and feels almost brand new! People looking for a super soft/cushiony mat should look elsewhere, the density of the rubber makes this mat feel very firm and can be tough on sensitive joints. Otherwise, if you're looking for a compact mat with good support, stability and firmness, this is definitely the mat for you.

Great Dry Grip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first yoga mat. It grips really well when I go into down dog with dry hands, but starts to slip when I get sweatier. It rolls up nice and small at the cost of being on the verge of too thin. If I want to do some exercises like sit-ups, toe touches, or side crunches, I wouldn’t choose this mat, as there isn’t really enough cushioning to support the sit bones for me. I’m tempted to grab my sister’s pro lite for some more cushioning. Overall, I’m happy. It’s a quality mat. For reference, I’m a guy in his late 20s of average weight.

Firm With Good Grip
