[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know the mat will break in more with use, but I have to say this mat is SO SLIPPERY. I even followed the instructions to leave sea salt sprinkled on for 24 hours prior to my first use, and as soon as I started sweating, this mat became nearly impossible to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this mat for about 3 weeks now. There are ways to “break in” the mat. Some videos online recommend salt and sunshine for 24hrs. BUT if you use it enough it will break in just fine. After just a few weeks it not slippery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for the "right" mat for my: Hatha, Iyengar, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Bikram, Yin, and Restorative yoga practices. Indoor or outdoor this mat is quality and sticky enough that I feel confident and peaceful going deeper into my asanas. I even think my "Cat - Cow" may have advanced to "Cat -Moose" poses.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks ago. The mat is high quality. I did not realize that there is a break in period. My hands and feet still slide a little, but overall, it’s definitely durable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect mat for Hot Yoga. It is light weight for carrying and sturdy enough to practice. Also love the fact that is it closed cell and doesn’t absorb any water/sweat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ‘studio’ model is nearly the same price as the full size model, but not nearly as robust. My wife has the full size one. It is more robust, and slightly thicker. Which, on a hard floor, makes all the difference!

If you’re considering buying a yoga mat over $100, then you have a problem, don’t waste your money on this, there are $20 mats that are just as good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been doing yoga on this mat almost every day outside and keeping it outside in the shade through fog, sun, rain, everything and it's good as new every morning. Good grip as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I used first time, mat was so slippery especially when I do the down dog. Now it is really awesome. I am really happy with my purchase. More you use it is getting better and stable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the color I got at such a great price! I did find it's a bit slippery so I used the 24 hour salt method and it is now my favorite yoga mat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I've only used this for one class, but it is not slippery! I go to buti yoga, which is sort of like a combination between cardio and yoga, and I sweat, although I am not a heavy sweater. It involves a lot of downward dogs, and I felt much more stable than I did on my previous mat. My hands felt grounded and did not slide. The mat did seem a bit slick when I first received it, but I read lots of reviews and followed a few suggestions: leaving it out in the sun for a few hours (it was 80 degrees), rubbing a fine grain sandpaper over it (once over, applying a bit of force), and using a heavy duty scotch-brite sponge with some cleaner (I used Mrs. Meyers) before rinsing it off and letting it dry. I maybe spent 10-15 minutes using the sandpaper and cleaner. And it worked! I am hopeful that this is my soul mat.

My wife wanted a thicker mat to help support her knees better while participating in yoga class! She is very happy and feels like a yoga pro now. This mat will last her a long time and money well spent. She really enjoys it.
