Very pleased with this purchase! Great fit, very comfortable, and versatile. Dare I say.... they are all of that AND flattering on a bigger body. I gained a significant amount of weight this year and needed to upgrade pants for a hiking trip, so I bought these with low optimism but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe a bit big in the waist but the drawstring solves that issue. They are great for hiking, but I have also been using them on my commute to school on cold days. The lining is light enough that I don't overheat during the day and I'm comfortable walking home in the cold and dark evenings.

Got these pants to wear in the cold: Friday night high school football games, hiking, walking and running with my dogs. HS Football is over but they are keeping me comfortable on my walks and runs. Love that they are durable on the outside but soft inside. It is more comfortable than layering but you get that effect. I am athletic built- the have some stretch but could have went up a size.

*Update review* I worn them during a windy winter day and they are less warm than the old version. Old one got only breathable piece behind the calf. Those one have it but also have on the side, begin under the pockets to hem. I was looking for warm pants but not as much breathable. Little bit desappointed for that reason but still a good pants.

I'm a fan of OR clothes ! Sometimes it's hard for me to buy the good size in OR pants depending of the model. In Ferrosi, I'm wearing size 10 in some colors and 12 in anothers colors. I bought Methow pants 2 years ago and the fit was special. Not button, only waist band with a cord. The XL was perfect even if there was loose material around the waist. I want to have a new pants like that because I like them very much ! This one still have a strange fit, slim legs but little bit waist loose. I was hesiting between 14 (my hip size in the fit sheet) and 16. I noticed a tiny difference between width legs (1cm approx) for both of them but the 16 is really really too big at the waist. I choose size 14 (it will become little bit loose when wearing). Will be little bit tight if I wear a thick underwear but perfect without. Again, really nice pants from OR : extensible, comfortable, warm, cute and lightweight . The only cons are that I prefer the fleece of the old version, the waist is really really high for me (5.3ft), there is no zip at the bottom of the legs (old version got and it was more pratical to put over my boots) and should have belt loops. I have a 'pear body', large hips/legs with a belly (180 pounds). Except the special fit,I love them !

I use these pants when hiking and camping in cold/damp weather. The fleece liner feels so comfy against the legs, and the outer shell is durable. These pants are extremely flattering, but I am not a curvy girl...I'm more straight-shaped. I could see why a curvy figure would have some issues with the waistband. I am in the outdoors all the time for work, and these are a go-to pair for me in the colder and shoulder months. I will be buying more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Outdoor Research methow pants have been my fave for a long time - own several pairs and wanted to pick up a few more on sale. Ordered a size 8 and a size 10 (for a little more room for extra leggings underneath). The waist on the 8s are super high compared to previous methow pants, uncomfortably so. Previous pairs had the non-zippered side pocket on the left, which was better because you could slip your phone in it and not bang it against whatever you were using in your right hand (boon for lefties, tho). I kept the 8s, but the size 10s were a disaster. They fit tighter than the 8s, again super high waist. Strangely, the fabric was stiff and uncomfortable - completely different than the 8s. They remind me of less-expensive knock-off brands around the internet. Before the changes the price was worth it - but now with the changes they really aren't that much better than the cheapos you can get elsewhere. So bummed - I am going to have to be very careful with my older Methows now to make them last - LOL!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pants are awesome. Warm, stretchy, wind resistant with a nice fit. They run large so size down. Liked them so much, I bought a second pair!

I really like the material and the leg fit is ok. I have larger quads and they fit a bit tight. Also, the legs are a bit long for me - I am 5'4". My issue is with the waist. It comes half way up my torso and fits very loosely.

Fit is perfect through the hips and thighs, snug but not tight. I love the fleece lining as I got these for winter biking and skiing in Alaska. But the waist...it's the exact same width as the hips, no taper at all. I can cinch it up with the drawstring but that leaves a lot of fabric jammed up in my belly button when I'm in a biking position. I like the high waist in the back to prevent gapping between top and bottom layers, but the front could be a bit lower-it's literally in my belly button. I haven't decided whether to return them or try and have them altered.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The other reviews are right - these have a really weird loose waist. You might think then that these would work for people with larger waistlines. But the waist is not elastic, so the pants will still fall down.

I absolutely love the thickness/warmth and texture of these pants. The fit is great one of my favorite pieces as far as how it compliments my body shape or lack there of. Haha

I work in an indoor/outdoor setting, so having proper gear is a must. These pants have proven to be great for warmth, with the fleece lining. They're quite cozy and comfortable, while looking sharp, and the pockets are great, both in terms of depth and location. They're not big, but good enough to store a phone or a couple small items. The downside is the lack of lining on the side of the calves, which is great for breathability, but not so great in the wind. As with all OR gear, they fit large. I'm usually a size 4, and had to order 0 in these pants. The legs were fine, but the waist was still too large. Another big drawback is the lack of belt loops. The internal cord does a decent job of holding the pants up, but with any weight in the pockets, the pants just want to slide off... and the thin cord eats into your belly.

Based on the OR sizing chart the Size 2 should have fit my waist and hips really well for a Trim Fit pant, without excessively pulling them in using the draw string on the waist. However, for my waist measurement of 27.5" the Size 2 having an actual waist sizing of 29" is too large and results in too much material being gathered around the front when pulled firm with the draw string. Considering the OR sizing chart said these were to fit an waist of 27.25", this seems oversized and unless you have total straight boy hips the waist to hip ratio seems off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love these pants! Warm, fit well and water resistant. I used them recently for a 5 week trip in the arctic. They preformed well and held up great despite wearing them almost every day! They stretch well and so comfortable. 5'5" 150 #. Size 8 fit well, but not loose . Size up if you want a baggy fit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like my Methow pants - the fit is trimmer than before. It's soft, warm and flexible and the best I found so far. I only take off a star as I prefer fleece that lined the inside of the pants in prior version.
