Wanted so badly to love these boots. Normally wear 8.5. Store fitted me for 7.5. I told them there seemed to be a lot of room in the toes, but the salesman told me I need that room. Sold me an expensive pair of insoles too. Wore the iron rangers around and went through two rounds of heel blisters. Went back to the store and they just kind of shook their heads because they were unreturnable. I’ve kept wearing them, but I can’t take long walks or I’ll blister in the heel, even after 3+ months of almost daily use. The online fit tool tells me I should be in 7ee. I’m disappointed because I really wanted to love these boots.

I currently own 19 pairs of heritage boots. The Iron rangers are great I have them in all the available leathers , I also have all the blacksmiths which are also great , I have the roughnecks and the loggers . Basically I wore 606 and 608 redwings outside in construction for 26 years. Them I retired and tried on the heritage boots and can't get enough

Only had these for about a week. Still breaking them in, so this is a short term review. Overall quality seems to be very good. I was hesitant to buy because the sizing seems to be hard to nail down. I wear a 9d in almost everything. The ride wing tool sized me at a 7.5ee. I decided to go to a 8ee. The ee is not as wide as I thought it would be. I like to wear a slightly thicker socks. Sizing was spot on. Boots are snug but not painful. Hope this helps someone buying a pair. Definitely worth the money.

I live in the UK and found this boot company on line. I loved the look of the Copper Rough and Tough leather so decided on the Iron Rangers. So glad I did - reports of breaking in issues do not apply in my case.... straight out of the box and as comfortable as can be, very happy. I have ordered the Rose Anvil kilties too, having read reports of the eyelets marking the tongue.

I bought these boots when I was 14 years old, going on 15. Now I am 20 years old, going on 21. These boots have literally grown up with me, I feel the insole slightly smaller than my foot. They've stretched slightly since I've grown up and they still to this day feel as wonderful as the first time I put them on. They're like an old friend that I can rely on in every situation. Hiking the hills, forests, and Coast lines of California and marching down city streets for miles in San Francisco, Paris, And Venice Italy. I 100% recommend these boots for the new and veteran boot collections.

I’ve had these boots for a year, they ran a little big but the overall fit is nice. To the people who say they are uncomfortable, they are boots. These are not a sports shoe with an air bubble in the heel. They add style to any outfit, so great with chores around the house, and patina up nice too. Get you a pair, you’ll be glad you did.

Really enjoyed them until I took them off after my first wear and found that the rivets from the speedhooks had started to cause a gauge in the leather tongue. Unacceptable for a boot of this price to have such a design flaw that commonly has this problem.

I've had these boots for three years now. I would say like others, go to the store to get fitted. My feet were between sizes, with one too tight and the other too loose. So I went back and forth, taking them home and wearing them in the house for a bit, but couldn't get a decent fit. Finally, I went to the Maple Grove, MN location (originally bought at the La Crosse store). The gentleman said, " Try these with an insert, and boom! Perfect fit. Once these are broken in, which took about a month or two, they have been amazing. I use these boots at the farm and around town. Not sure how good these boots would perform if you are in the trades, but for farm work, they work for me. I clean and recondition them about twice a year, and they have not let me down. I will say, if you work in the snow or in wet environments, these boots are not your friends. Even with the waterproofing I applied per Red Wing's instructions. I spent a day working outside in the snow in the 20's. My feet were soaked halfway through the day, and working in cold, wet feet is not much fun. Lessons learned. The overall takeaway is: these are my favorite work boots year-round, except in wet winter work. These function fine in dry to somewhat muddy environments, but not in wet environments... get a different boot for that.

I just picked these up from the store and I’ve never had a boot fit better. I did the volumetric sizing and it was spot on. I have fat and wide feet. I was recommended an 11.5 wide sizing and was shocked it fit so well. The width and height of the toe box is fantastic. I normally have to size up to 13 to compensate for foot width and height as a reference. Very, very pleased. Wearing them with no insole.

13 years. The Iron Ranger boots were a graduation gift to myself, and I still have no regrets about my purchase. The break in period was rough. My ankles were killing me for a few weeks. However, once broken in, they still weren't broken in! For several years afterwards they felt like they were new every time I put them on. Now... 13 years later and they feel like a well fitting pair of socks. Molded to my feet perfectly. Tough as nails. I condition them a few times a year and they clean up nice every time. I still haven't resoled them, they still have the original cork soles. The heel looks like they might new to be replaced... eventually. I'm not in a hurry. I wear them a few times a week, so we'll see how long it takes before they actually need to be resoled.

I bought my Iron Rangers in March of this year. My right boot has developed a gap in the footbed at my big toe. Basically the footbed is ending before it gets to the end of the shoe and doesn't touch the leather. It's causing me to be standing on the gap and is quite uncomfortable. Can someone help?

I bought my Iron Rangers just before Covid hit. Since that time they get worn 2-3 times a week along with my Redwing Roughnecks bought about the same time. I’ve worn them to dinner, for yard work, walking the dog and most of all travel. They have been in 15 US states, Mexico and Iceland. Great all around boot for comfort and style. For reference, my Branock size is 10EEE, my IR’s are 9.5EEE and fit perfect with no real break in necessary. The reason I deducted 1 star is because the insole is 2 pieces. In the left boot, the heel section can be uncomfortable. A single slab of leather (like the Roughneck) would be more comfortable. Overall, great job Redwing!

I'm a professional conflict photographer & documentary photojournalist and my Iron Rangers have faithfully taken me from downtown or downrange and back again. I've been wearing the same pair for almost a decade and trust my life to them in every environment. They're like shaking hands with an old friend. Highly recommend.
