Solarflex® Sunglove

Bought these to replace an older version that were wearing out after years of hard use. New version fits great and has a longer length which great as it layers under a long sleeve sun shirt better than the old ones.

Great Product

These gloves are true to size, comfortable, and provide the needed sun protection down here in SW FL. I have two pairs, one pair gets wet and contacts fish on a regular basis and the other pair exclusively for fly casting, clean and never wet.

Solarflex® Sunglove 2025

Disappointed! I like the extended middle and index leather padding for line handling and protection against line burns, however, the gloves would be so much better fully formed with a leather palm - gloves similar to the Cam Sigler sun gloves of old would be ideal!

They Work

Have several pair that I keep in different packs. I won’t fish without them anymore. They do a great job in keeping my fingers and wrists from getting burned.

Best Fly Fishing Gloves

I have been through many gloves and these are all I use now for fly fishing. They expose the right amount of palm, cover your wrist, and cover your fingers for maximum stripping. I wish the fingers were a bit longer as I have to use stripping finger gloves still.

I've Been Wearing Simms Solarflex

I've been wearing Simms SolarFlex sun gloves for the last decade. Every few years, Simms redesigns these gloves. The latest version is far less useful than previous versions. The index finger is too short, resulting in line cuts when fighting saltwater fish. The glove ends exactly where backing contacts your index finger. Older versions had a much longer index finger. Durability has always been an issue with these gloves, but I could overlook that. The shortened index finger has caused me to look elsewhere for fishing gloves.

The Ultimate Fishing Gloves

I love the SolarFlex sunglove, because they have a great design, providing confort, sun protetion and quick drying features. Their highlight for me is the hole in the palm, which gives the angler a quick and easy way to free their hands to handle fish avoiding touching them with some fabric, therefore maximizing a healthy release.

Lightweight Gloves

Love these! I wear them hiking and fishing. They protect my hands from the brutal AZ sun and they have ventilation in the palm that helps keep them cool. Open fingertips are great for doing things without taking them on and off. Very light weight. I forget I have them on sometimes.

Sun Glove Protection.

These gloves are worth the purchase. Great sun protection and for those who streamer fish keeps that line burn to a minimum. Still not sure why the palms are cut out.

Fit well. I’d like them longer to cover forearm. I use them daily for protection against sun including driving. I wear a size large. It fits well, snug, not tight. This pair fit a bit snugger than the first pair, I had to stretch them out to be comfortable. I will continue to use daily. No fishing. Gardening, driving, all day wear when I’m out and about. I like the color.
